What We Do
The Wayne/Holmes Rx Program assists in providing medications to those without prescription coverage and its mission is two-fold. First, the program connects individuals who do not have prescription coverage with pharmaceutical programs that provide much-needed medications at a free or drastically reduced cost. Second, the program places our partner agencies that provide vouchers for medications into a large buying network, enabling them to provide those medications at much-reduced rate.
The program is embedded in the InfoLink program at United Way of Wayne & Holmes Counties and the results of the program have been incredible. Since March, 2008, nearly 80 people have signed up to use the program and here are the collective savings under the Wayne/Holmes Rx Program:
- Retail Price of Medications Before Signing Up for Wayne/Holmes RX - $853,515.84
- Price Paid for Medications After Signing Up for Wayne/Holmes Rx - $65,352.24
- Collective Percentage of Savings - 89%
